We don’t have any age limits on any of our schemes. If you meet our minimum criteria and are above the age of 16, you’re welcome to apply to our schemes.

We’re committed to inclusion and welcome applications from anyone. For some roles, you’ll be working in a safety critical environment and will undergo specialist training, so we’ll ask you to attend a medical before we confirm your offer. This is confidential and involves hearing and vision checks, alongside establishing any existing medical conditions you may have, medication you take and understanding your general health.

The outcome of your medical may mean that we’re unable to confirm your offer. Where adjustments or restrictions are suggested, we always do our best to accommodate these.

Requirements for our apprenticeships may differ depending on the scheme you’re interested in joining. Take a look at the apprenticeships page for more information.

Your health and safety will always be at the forefront of our minds too. And because you’ll be working in a safety critical environment, around live wires, and on train tracks, you’ll undergo specialist training. If you’re successful in the selection process we’ll ask you to attend a medical before we confirm your offer of a place on this scheme, as part of our pre-employment process. This is confidential and will involve hearing and vision checks, alongside establishing any existing medical conditions you may have, or medication you take and understanding your general health.

The outcome of your medical may mean that we are unable to confirm your offer. Where adjustments or restrictions are suggested, we always do our best to accommodate these. Please note all roles at Network Rail include a drug and alcohol screening process which will form part of your medical.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to discuss this.

We recruit apprentices up and down the UK throughout the year. Take a look at the apprenticeships page for more information.

Each of our apprenticeships open when we need more apprentices. If we’re not open for a role you’re interested in, register your interest and we’ll let you know when we’re next recruiting.

We encourage applications from anyone. You’ll need to have the right to work in the UK. If you currently have a student visa, you will need to apply for a Graduate visa once you’ve finished studying in order to join us.

When you join us, you’ll receive a £2,000 welcome bonus, which you can use to help you relocate if necessary. We do not offer any extra relocation expenses.
